Welcome to Cathedral Boys School 1977 Alumni Association

Formed on April 18, 2021, the Cathedral Boys School Association is a close-knit group of childhood friends who grew up together at the Cathedral School for Boys. What began as a reconnection of old friends has evolved into a heartfelt mission to promote love, unity, and service.

Rooted in values of respect and free from religious, political, or racial bias, our association supports its members during difficult times and gives back to those in need. We provide educational and financial aid to orphaned and underprivileged children, assist former schoolmates and teachers facing hardships, and extend help to vulnerable communities in Ethiopia.

With active members across the USA and Ethiopia, we are committed to keeping our brotherhood strong while creating a lasting impact through compassion, unity, and charity.

A Brief History of the Association

The Cathedral Boys’ School 1977 Alumni Association emerged from a profound moment of reflection and reconnection. The passing of our dear childhood friend, Senay Habte, along with news of another friend facing challenges, served as a catalyst, reigniting the enduring bonds we formed during our school years. Special thanks to Aron Yazew and Fasil Tesfaye, whose unwavering dedication and outreach brought nearly 38 alumni back together. Another devoted CatheBoy, Heruy Mesfen, stepped in as acting president during this transformative journey. The association was officially established on April 18, 2021, and continues to thrive today with 24 committed members, both in the diaspora and in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

It often begins in early childhood, where the innocent play and exploration of youth lay the groundwork for lasting bonds, whether through cherished memories, heartfelt conversations, or laughter ignited by common interests.
